This is the Traffic Light Matcha Latte ($9.80) from Gacha+ Cafe, a limited-edition beverage ($9.80), available from 7–14 June 2025 that came with a gift-with-purchase: a traffic light-themed acrylic button keychain (limited to 200 per day).

The drink featured a visually striking layered composition echoing the colours of a traffic light—though inverted—comprising a base of strawberry jelly with strawberry fruit and popping pearls (red), a middle layer of mango purée (yellow), and a top layer of matcha latte (green).

The strawberry jelly resembled commercial aeroplane jelly in texture and flavour, with minimal fruit presence. The mango purée provided body and mild tropical sweetness, contributing to a thicker overall texture. The popping pearls added bursts of sweet acidity, lightly balancing the overall sweetness. Notably, the sugar content across the layers masked any bitterness in the matcha, resulting in a smooth, easy-drinking profile. While the matcha quality was respectable, the strawberry component would have benefitted from a more robust, fresh fruit element—such as a compote or purée—to enhance depth.

Overall, the beverage was visually playful and texturally varied, with decent matcha quality, though the strawberry component lacked impact. Worth trying for the novelty.
