Tsujiri Grape Sencha

This Tsujiri Grape Sencha is the second of the teas we picked up from the first Kitakyushu store of the famous tea house based in Uji, Kyōto.

The tea is a blend of sencha and grape fragrance.

Steeping one 4 g tea bag in 200 mL of water at 75°C for 70 seconds, the tea was a translucent green colour with a green tea powder suspended throughout and a pleasant aroma of sweet grape against bright vegetal notes. Served hot, the subtly sweet notes of the sencha emerge at the head of each sip with a subtle grape flavour ahead of its more vegetal notes in the body before bright notes of grape finish the sip and linger long and pleasantly in the aftertaste.

The grape flavour lingering in the aftertaste makes this tea enjoyable and distinguishes it from teas like the Lupicia Mountain Grape Oolong, where the grape flavour was brightest in the body.

This Tsujiri Grape Sencha contained 5 x 4 g tea bags. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Kitakyushu, Japan in 2019.
