These Meisan Karin Cough Drops use quince from the Shinshu region, an old province of Japan that is now Nagano Prefecture and known for their quinces amongst other fruits.

It contained honey, quince extract (100%  from the Shinshu region), as well as 21 herbal extracts.

These cough drops are opaque off-white and about 1.5 cm in diameter and 0.8 cm in height. Upon tasting, the drops have a sweet, slightly piquant flavour of quince — a blend of the crispness of apples, mellow sweetness of pears, and a hint of the zestiness of citrus — that developed with a heady, fragrant honey sweetness about 10 seconds in and persisted until dissolved.

This Meisan Karin Cough Drops contained 100 g or 25 pieces. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Kyōto, Japan in 2018.
