This Starbucks Toasted White Chocolate Mocha was part of their Christmas line up for 2018. It’s ‘a buttery white chocolate sauce with a toasty-sweet twist’ blended with espresso and topped with whipped cream decorated with candied cranberry sprinkles.
The drink was available both hot and iced, and in both, a prominent toastiness is evident in both the aroma and flavour. Together with the bold espresso, these gentle bitter notes emerge at the head of each sip to cut through the sweetness of the white chocolate in the background, and the cranberry sprinkles add occasional pops of festive acidity. Overall, the flavour was rich and more enjoyable than their standard white chocolate mocha.
