This UHA Mikakutō Cororo Iyokan is a limited flavour of our much enjoyed gummies. Iyokan, which we encountered with the seasonal KitKat flavour, is the second most widely produced citrus fruit in Japan after the mikan. The fruit takes it’s name after Ehime Prefecture (once called ‘iyo-no-kuni’ or Iyo Country) where most of the fruit is now grown, including the juice and peel used in these gummies.

Each gummy is deep orange yellow colour with a sausage shape about 1.5 cm in length and 1 cm in diameter.

The gummies have a fragrant aroma that recalled the tartness of an orange and bitterness of a grapefruit. Upon tasting, the skin gave resistance before reaching the thick gel centre where a bright iyokan flavour came through sweet like a mikan before being quickly tempered by a healthy citrus acidity much like an orange while the bits of iyokan peel add a hint of zesty bitterness and texture.
This UHA Mikakutō Cororo Iyokan contained 40 g or 9 pieces. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Kumamoto, Japan in 2019.
