When it comes to flavoured peanuts, Koh-Kae makes some of the most addictive. These Koh-Kae Peanuts Tom Yum Flavour Coated are a variation inspired by the hot and sour shrimp-based Thai soup.
The peanuts are dusted in a golden orange seasoning and have a pungent shrimpy aroma. Upon tasting, the shrimp flavour also came through — but far more subdued than the smell would suggest — and biting through the thin crispy shell, the warm nuttiness of the crunchy peanuts promptly become the dominant flavour, complementing the shrimp notes that linger in the background along with a gentle hint of spicy heat that builds as we continue eating. Overall, though, we do prefer the other flavours in the line.
