This is the Weis Lemon, Coconut, Lemon Myrtle & Ice Cream Bars. It gains its natural flavour from lemon juice, coconut milk, lemon myrtle grounds and lemon myrtle oil.
Weis had the following to say about the design of the box:
Designed by Dixon Patten of Bayila Creative, a proud Yorta Yorta and Gunnai man, the artwork is inspired by traditional food-gathering practices by First Nations people. The wave patterns are leaves and represents our unique indigenous flora and our connection to Country and to each other. The different circles depicts diverse people/community coming together to partake in ceremony and to eat together. This is universal to mankind – sharing food with others brought comfort, wealth and benefits.
Each bar is around 10 x 4 x 1.5 cm in size with the lemon coconut flavour and the lemon myrtle flavour split along the short edge in a 1:2 ratio. Upon tasting, the lemon coconut aspect delivered a very creamy mouthfeel with a gentle lemon aroma, while the lemon myrtle side adds a tongue-tingling zingy lemon flavour. The lemon flavour was more fragrant than acidic, which is the result of the lemon myrtle. Eaten together, the overall flavour recalled a frozen lemon cheesecake but without the overwhelming sharpness of the cream cheese.
