Kimura Red Fuji Cider

This is the Kimura Red Fuji Cider. It contained 10% juice and skin from grapes grown in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.

The beverage was a semi-translucent deep red colour with a soft grape aroma, particles suspended throughout and moderate carbonation. Consumed chilled, sweet notes of red grapes came through at the head of each sip and developed in the body with the pleasant earthy, subtly bitter quality of the fruit’s skin. The bubbles cleansed the palate in the finish for a clean aftertaste. The overall flavour of this grape juice was refreshingly natural, taking on the earthier sweetness that we’re accustomed to in the West from Concorde grapes and without the punchy acidity of kyohō grapes that lead many grape-flavoured foods in Japan to be misconceived as tasting artificial.

This Kimura Red Fuji Cider contained 240 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
