Kimura Yamanashi Grape Cider

This is the Kimura Yamanashi Grape Cider, containing 10% juice from red grapes produced in Yamanashi Prefecture.

The beverage had a translucent, vibrant red hue with a sweet, musky red grape aroma and soft, fine carbonation.

When consumed chilled, it opened with immediate notes of red grape, beginning with sweetness before developing a soft, musky labrusca quality at mid-palate. The fine bubbles lifted the finish, carrying a lingering red grape sweetness into the aftertaste.

Overall, it conveyed the sweetness and gentle muskiness characteristic of red grapes but lacked the richness and depth needed for greater complexity. As a result, the flavour felt somewhat one-note and unremarkable, reminiscent of the Shinku grapes from Shimane Prefecture.

This Kimura Yamanashi Grape Cider contained 240 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
