This is the Pandan Fantasy Macchiato (tall, $6.50, light ice) from Starbucks. It was created by Rabia Adawiyah, the runner-up of the Starbucks Asia Pacific Barista Championship from Starbucks Singapore. Inspired by the traditional pandan chiffon cake, the beverage featured green pandan syrup blended with milk, layered with espresso shots, and topped with pandan-infused coconut flakes.
When consumed chilled, the coffee remained the dominant flavour, with the pandan subtly but elegantly enhancing the drink. It introduced a fragrant, vanilla-like aroma with a fresh, grassy quality typical of pandan, distinct from matcha despite the similar appearance to Starbucks’ coffee and matcha blend. The coconut flakes added a satisfying crunch and complemented the pandan with their natural flavour, a classic combination. Overall, this was one of Starbucks’ most inspired and refined flavoured coffee releases in Australia, and it’s definitely worth a repeat purchase.
