This is the Calypso Kiwi Lemonade. The range is imported from the US and described as being ‘reminiscent of the freshly squeezed, homemade lemonade served at neighbourhood lemonade stands’. The drink was an opaque light green colour — but no artificial colours! — with lemon bits floating throughout and non-carbonated with a slightly tart, medicinal aroma. Consumed, chilled, fresh notes of lemon came through at the head of each sip before a slightly tropical twist from the kiwi emerged in the body in the body. The drink had a bold lemon and kiwi flavour that is intensely tart and overwhelmingly sweet in equal measure. We’d have more easily enjoyed a smaller bottle of this.
