This is the Tipco Mangosteen & Mixed Fruit Juice. It contained the juice of mangosteen (30%), orange (25%), grape (20%), beetroot (10%), passionfruit (4%), banana (5%) and lychee (5%).
The juice was an opaque orange-pink colour with a tropical aroma. Upon tasting, the juice began with an initial grape sweetness developing with gently acidic notes of orange citrus and passionfruit. The initial mouthfeel was smooth and viscous, much like peach nectar with more acidity and less sweetness. The viscosity thinned in the body, where a deeper sweetness from the banana emerged to amplify the tropical aspect of the juice and a hint of bitterness came through in the finish and lingered long on the palate.
The overall flavour did recall the tropical banana and peach notes of mangosteen but was also accurately labelled as a tropical juice as it tasted much like a typical version only with less reliance on orange juice as a base.
