This Pepsi White Peach Oolong was the second market-inspired flavour for China that was released by PepsiCo in 2021.
The beverage was a semi-translucent dark brown colour with a sweet aroma of white peaches and moderate carbonation. Served chilled, the crisp notes of sweet white peach came through at the head of each sip before the usual acidity of cola emerged in the body to balance the sweetness and deliver the freshness of juicy white peaches. The sweetness was a touch more pronounced than in the osmanthus version, and along with the notes of peach, lingered briefly in the finish ahead of the bubbles clearing the palate for a clean aftertaste. The oolong component was more difficult to identify but the ‘extra’ flavour did recall that of the Lupicia Momo Oolong Supergrade.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable flavoured Pepsi, and along with the osmanthus offering, a much more refined twist on the original than the raspberry and mango offerings in the Western market.
