This is the Suntory Kyōto Iyemon Yuzu Tea, a green tea flavoured with yuzu peel and 0.1% yuzu juice, appearing to be the 2025 update of the previous Yuzu Scented Green Tea.
The beverage had a translucent light yellow hue with a vibrant, juicy yuzu aroma. When consumed chilled, it opened with an immediate burst of yuzu, bright and fragrant with the impression of freshly squeezed juice, only lightly sweetened. The flavour deepened mid-palate, carrying a bold tartness that built into the finish, yet remained restrained enough to avoid being overly sharp. The subtle sweetness was balanced and unobtrusive, allowing the character of the fruit to dominate. Meanwhile, the green tea base contributed a faint vegetal freshness in the background, sharpening the profile without introducing astringency or bitterness.
In comparison with the earlier Yuzu Scented Green Tea, this version places greater emphasis on the richness of the yuzu flavour, with the green tea notes dialled back to a supporting role.
