Guozi Shule Dou Dou Lemon Tea Phoenix Aroma

This is the Guozi Shule Dou Dou Lemon Tea Phoenix Aroma, made with Phoenix aroma oolong at a concentration of ≥6 g/L and lemon juice at a concentration of ≥1 g/L.

The beverage had a translucent deep brown hue and opened with the characteristic floral-orchid aroma typical of Phoenix aroma oolong. On tasting, however, the dominant note was a sweet lemon tea flavour reminiscent of Vita Lemon Tea, with the oolong’s presence notably muted in the body despite its aromatic introduction. The Phoenix aroma re-emerged faintly and briefly in the finish, though the most prominent tea quality was a marked astringency developing mid-sip. This astringency, while free of bitterness, presented as a sharp, drying sensation that lingered into the aftertaste. The lemon component quickly receded, giving way to a flavour profile closer to a sweetened black tea. The lemon itself tasted strongly of concentrate, lacking the zesty brightness or acidity required to lift the blend.

In summary, this Phoenix aroma lemon tea lacked balance. The oolong component was underexpressed, the sweetness was excessive, and the lemon flavour failed to convey the freshness or clarity expected in a citrus-forward beverage.

This Guozi Shule Dou Dou Lemon Tea Phoenix Aroma contained 500 mL. It was produced in China and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
