The noodles featured a noodle cake accompanied by toppings of dehydrated kimchi, squid, egg, green onion and onion. Upon opening the package, the noodles released a savoury garlicky aroma.
After adding boiling water up to the designated line inside the cup and waiting for 3 minutes, the soup base transformed into an opaque red-orange hue, gaining a slight viscosity that coated the noodles. On tasting, the soup had a savoury garlicky taste with a subtle hint of seafood, noticeable only when consuming a piece of rehydrated squid. The generous chunks of rehydrated kimchi provided a fresh texture. Surprisingly, the rehydrated eggs had a genuine egg flavour and retained a satisfying texture. However, the noodles’ texture resembled typical Nissin Cup Noodles—firm but lacking the elasticity of stove-cooked noodles.
Overall, these kimchi-flavored instant noodles fell short compared to Nongshim Shin Ramyun Kimchi. Additionally, the seafood flavour was notably weak, making it an unimpressive choice. Therefore, we would not consider repurchasing this flavour.
