It was only ever a matter of time before moussaka bumped lasagne from being one of my favourite comfort foods. This is Coles Lamb Moussaka.
And what’s not to love? This one has ‘lamb mince in a rich ragu sauce with layers of sliced potato and eggplant topped with a mornay sauce, cheese and paprika’ all ready to eat after microwaving for 8 minutes.
This lamb moussaka hits all the right taste buds. The eggplant and potato slices are soft, going well with the rich tomato ragu sauce and the slightly gamey flavour of lamb mince. Cheese almost always makes food taste better and here the mornay sauce and cheese bring all the elements of the dish together with a moreish richness.
