This is the Guylian Opus. This contained an assortment of eight flavours chocolate pralines.
Each box contained two of each flavour:
Pear & Mango Ganache
Sweet and fruity with a thick, creamy texture reminiscent of caramel, though the specific fruits were not immediately discernible. The flavour was slightly tart at first, developing into a hint of booziness as the dark chocolate melted.
Soft Caramel
A classic soft caramel with a gooey texture that contrasted well with the crispness and richness of the dark chocolate shell.
Cappuccino Cream
The coffee flavour was mellow and exceptionally smooth, with a pleasant sweetness and no bitterness.
Original Praline.
This was the standout flavour. The hazelnut truly shone, delivering a creamy, nutty smoothness that was both rich and satisfying.
Crunchy Biscuit & Vanilla Cream
From the first bite, the gentle crunch of the biscuit was evident, followed by a creamy white chocolate and vanilla flavour as the exterior melted.
Smooth Truffle.
Simple but effective, with a rich chocolate flavour that developed fully as the praline melted into a smooth and creamy consistency on the palate.
Truffle Roasted Hazelnut
This featured a rich nuttiness and smooth truffle centre. The whole hazelnut inside added a delightful crunch and elevated the overall texture and flavour.
Original Praline Roasted Hazelnut
Similar to the Original Praline, but the roasted whole hazelnut enhanced the flavour, adding a darker, richer nuttiness. The texture and taste were notably elevated by the whole hazelnut.
This Guylian Opus contained 180 g (16 pieces). It was produced in Belgium and received as a gift from acquaintances in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
