The chocolate bar had a fragrance of rich, dark chocolate. Upon tasting, the bar exhibited a satisfying snap, transitioning into a luxuriously smooth mouthfeel. With every bite, a delicate interplay of firm sweetness and understated bitter cocoa undertones unfolded, stretching seamlessly from the initial contact to the final moment. Remarkably, the chilli element remained inconspicuous throughout most of the tasting experience. It was only in the closing stages of each bite that the chilli’s presence materialized. In an unexpected twist, the heat emerged with restraint at first, gradually evolving into a vigorous and peppery intensity that lingered tenaciously in the aftertaste. Despite our personal reservations towards chilli-infused chocolate, the Noosa Chocolate Factory’s rendition demonstrated a refined and sophisticated approach to the flavour, distinguishing itself from alternatives like the Whittaker’s Artisan Collection Kaitaia Fire Chilli Pepper Spice in Dark Chocolate.
