This is the Kanro Puré Gumi Premium Sparkling Ruby Grapefruit. It used concentrated grapefruit juice.
Each piece was heart-shaped, measuring approximately 3 x 2.5 x 0.5 cm, with a red core encased in a pink outer layer and a sweet red grapefruit aroma.
Upon tasting, the sour crystals on the surface delivered a bright, crunchy acidity, leading to the sweeter gummy exterior, which had a fresh, mellow, berry-like sweetness typical of red grapefruit. The gummy’s firm jelly texture was chewy though without bounce, yet did not stick to the teeth, thanks to the sour crystals that gradually melted on the palate, creating a sustained soda-like effect. This gummy exterior contrasted with the soft-pureed centre, which had a melting texture and released a concentrated burst of red grapefruit flavour, capturing the aromatic sweetness and bright tartness of fresh red grapefruit juice. As with all variants in this series, the refined texture and flavour of these gummies make them well worth repurchasing.
