This is the Bingrae x KAKAO FRIENDS Ryan Bar Plum Flavour. In the Kakao Friends family — characters based on the emoticons from Korean-based instant messaging service, KakaoTalk — Ryan is ‘a male lion whose complex is his absence of a mane’.
The ice bar is about 10 cm in length and 5 cm in width with the cutest ears. It uses 7% plum syrup. Upon tasting, we bite through a hard orange coloured ‘crust’ that tastes much like a typical ice bar and captured the sweet acidity of the fruit while the centre featured a soft pink coloured sherbet centre (not pictured) that delivered a stronger, brighter plum flavour that captured the sweetness of the fruit. The flavour of the plum is that of a regular red-skinned, yellow-fleshed plum, so does not capture the refreshing acidity of green plums. I like it.
