Imuraya Gororon Kaniku Appie Pie Bar

This is the Imuraya Gororon Kaniku Appie Pie Bar. It featured custard ice cream enveloping a filling composed of apple chunks and apple sauce, accounting for 24%, along with pie crust pieces.

It measured approximately 8 x 5 x 2 cm, with an opaque yellow hue and areas of darker brown.

Upon tasting, the custard ice cream offered a smooth and creamy vanilla flavour, enriched with the distinct presence of vanilla beans, reminiscent of the custard typically drizzled over an apple pie. The interior presented a warm sweetness derived from cooked apple sauce infused with cinnamon. While the cinnamon notes were immediately discernible, they were well-balanced, with the apple chunks providing a soft crunch akin to lightly cooked apples, imparting a fresh quality to the sweetness of the apple sauce. The pie crust pieces, however did not have their fresh crispness and mainly contributed a buttery richness to bind the apple sauce and apple chunks together. Notwithstanding, the textures of all components harmonized perfectly, creating a rich mouthfeel that celebrated the apple filling of an apple pie, complemented by the subtle presence of the custard ice cream.

This Imuraya Gororon Kaniku Appie Pie Bar contained 75 mL. It was produced in Japan and puirchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
