This is the North Colors x Ragueneau Patissier’s Apple Stick Apple Pie Style Gumi, a collaboration with Ragueneau Sasaki’s Patissier’s Apple Stick, an iconic apple pie from Hirosaki.

Each gummy had a circular dome shape, measuring approximately 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height. They were a semi-opaque yellow hue with small orange flecks visible from the underside.

The gummies had a rich aroma reminiscent of buttery, sweet baked apple pie, with notes of caramelised sugar and apple syrup. On tasting, an immediate baked apple sponge flavour emerged with pronounced sweetness. A few chews released a juicy, cooked apple flavour with a pleasant acidity and a touch of brandy, adding remarkable depth. In the finish, the tiny specks visible on the underside provided a subtle texture before a flavour reminiscent of steamed, sweet tapioca pudding from Southeast Asia lingered. This combination impressively captured the essence of the original product, recalling its buttery, flaky pastry, syrup-soaked sponge, and tart apple pieces, making them a resounding success worth purchasing.
This North Colors x Ragueneau Patissier’s Apple Stick Apple Pie Style Gumi contained 40 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
