This is the Phoenix Dancong Tea & Coffee Blend ($7.50, fixed sweetness, fixed ice) from Tea & Co. It consisted of a phoenix dancong oolong milk tea topped with an espresso shot.
The beverage featured a gradient from milky beige at the base to darker brown at the top. Once mixed, the roasted coffee notes dominated the start of the first few sips, offering a bold, balanced flavour rounded by the milk without any acidity. Mid-sip, the aromatic orchid and fruity notes of the phoenix dancong oolong emerged with an intensity that matched the coffee, yet without astringency or bitterness. Typical of phoenix dancong oolong, the floral orchid notes lingered on the palate between sips, influencing the start of subsequent sips and persisting alongside the coffee throughout. The result was a beverage that celebrated the richness of roasted coffee with a pronounced floral presence—a combination many coffee beans aim for but rarely achieve as effectively. Overall, this was a successful coffee and tea blend, though we might prefer the osmanthus oolong tea blend over this one.
