Magokoro Farm Co Do Jonetz Aomori Apple Caramel Chocolate

This is the Magokoro Farm Co Do Jonetz Aomori Apple Caramel Chocolate. It was produced from Fuji apples grown in Aomori, a prefecture in Japan famous for its production of apples.

The apples were ‘made into dried fruits with a semi-raw texture and wrapped in moist white chocolate with caramel powder embedded into it’. Each piece varied in size from 1-3 cm at its widest, a matte tan colour with a sweet aroma of caramelised white chocolate.

Upon tasting, the caramel white chocolate had a firm and crumbly texture upon biting through, smoothly melting upon contact with the palate just before encountering the apple. The semi-dried apple maintained a soft crunch. In contrast to the milk chocolate version, where the bold sweetness of the Fuji apple took center stage, the caramel white chocolate dominated mid-bite, relegating the apple’s presence to its crunchy texture. It wasn’t until the latter part of the bite, as the chocolate receded, that the crisp notes of the Fuji apples became apparent, delivering a subtle hint of crisp sweetness and fresh acidity. In comparison, this white chocolate version did not allow for a more distinct apple presence than the milk chocolate version, which we prefer.

This Magokoro Farm Co Do Jonetz Aomori Apple Caramel Chocolate contained 35 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Hong Kong in 2023.
