This is Somersby Cloudy Apple Cider, a new addition to the Somersby line. We’re such fans of the other flavours – Apple, Pear, and Blackberry – that this new one had us all excited even though it’s marketed as semi-sweet and we’re generally fans of sweet ciders. If Somersby made it, it was likely we’d enjoy it.

The cider is a translucent golden straw colour with a tart apple juice nose and moderate carbonation. Served chilled, sweet notes of apple juice came through ahead of lightly bitter alcoholic notes developing briefly in the body before finishing with tarter notes of fresh green apple, like Granny Smiths. Compared to the Somersby Apple Cider, which we still prefer, the apple flavour in this one loses the crispness and some of the sweetness but takes on a balanced bitterness and acidity. This one is a more complex cider with a fuller body.
This Somersby Cloudy Apple Cider contained 330 ml. It was produced in Denmark and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
