Three Chocolatiers opened their first shop at the end of 2017, and it was only a few weeks before they opened their Parramatta store that I became aware of their existence. With the construction in the Sydney CBD, my trips down to Townhall are more of a rare event than a fortnightly visit. As their name suggests, they specialise in all things chocolate, but their stores are set up in a way that’s less mainstream than the cafes for Lindt or Guylian but more accessible than Koko Black or Kakawa.

This here is their Rocky Road, one of their bestsellers. It’s a ‘classic rocky road, with marshmallows, cranberries, almonds coated in a smooth 37% cacao milk chocolate’. This rocky road is a classic in terms of taste and texture. It has softness from the marshmallows, some crunch from the almonds, pops of acidity from the cranberries and richness from the chocolate binding it all together. But aside from lacking in almonds, it’s just a classic with nothing to distinguish it from a standard rocky road recipe, like the cherry and passionfruit flavours of rocky road from Kakawa, it’s not something for which we’d return when decent rocky road is available for less elsewhere.
This Three Chocolatiers Rocky Road contained 180 g. It was made in Australia and received as a gift in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
