This is the White Peach Oolong Fresh Fruit Tea with Tangerine Grape ($10.70, includes popping pearls, no ice, 25% (standard) sugar) from Tea Republic. It featured an white peach oolong base with a few peeled and crushed green grapes, and barley poppings pearls. The drink was a cloudy green hue, with the pearls and grapes at the base.

When enjoyed chilled, the calamansi flavor immediately took center stage, presenting a mellow citrusy sourness balanced by a hint of sweetness and gentle zestiness—reminiscent of a blend between lime and mandarin. The white peach oolong tea base supported the floral notes of the calamansi, contributing a dewy freshness without introducing its own flavor that might disrupt the profile. Unfortunately, the addition of crushed green grapes did not contribute much flavor due to their scarcity, and their large size prevented them from enhancing the texture through the straw. The barley popping pearls featured a firm exterior skin that ‘popped’ to reveal a soft and rather flavorless puffed barley interior. While texturally interesting and worth a try, they did not offer a texture we would choose to reorder.

Overall, the combination of calamansi with white peach oolong was a success, and the drink would be an ideal match with more conventional agar pearls or golden pearls.
