This is the Asahi Mintia Miyazaki Hyūganatsu, made using powdered juice from hyūganatsu oranges from Miyasaki Prefecture.

Each mint was a small circular disc, measuring approximately 0.7 cm in diameter and 0.3 cm in height, off-white in hue with fine yellow flecks. It carried a bright, juicy hyūganatsu aroma that was immediately recognisable.

On tasting, the smooth surface gave way to an initial sweet floral white citrus that unfolded swiftly into a gently sour profile as the mint dissolved. The floral citrus notes continued to unfold with a balanced interplay of sweet and sour notes into the finish. Mouthfeel was smooth with the mint dissolving with rounded edges without sharpness on the palate.
Overall, a bright, aromatic mint that delivered an authentic hyūganatsu profile with elegance and restraint.
This Asahi Mintia Miyazaki Hyūganatsu contained 7 g (50 pieces). It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney Australia in 2025.
