This is the Ricola Cough Drops Original Herb, made with ten herbs grown in the Swiss mountains: peppermint, elder, wild thyme, horehound, hyssop, mallow, thyme, lemon balm, linden flower, and sage.

Each drop was an opaque dark brown hue, shaped like a square prism, approximately 1 x 1 x 1.5 cm, with a pleasant herbal aroma. Despite the extensive list of herbs, thetaste was lightly sweet, with a herbal warmth to counter the mellow menthol undertone. The overall flavour was reminscent of Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa, a Cantonese cough syrup also available in similar cough drop format. Each cough drop lasted up to twenty minutes, making them effective and enjoyable for soothing itchy throats, especially from allergies.

This Ricola Cough Drops Original Herb contained 45 pieces. It was produced in Switzerland and received as a gift from relatives visiting from the United States in 2024.
