This Mindful Sparks Prestige Sparkling Passion Fruit Green Tea is a part of the series of premium, locally produced, non-alcoholic, and artisanal sparkling tea offered by Mindful Sparks in Hong Kong. It contained passionfruit purée, longan honey, jasmine flowers, green tea, and amongst other ingredients.

The beverage was an opaque dark yellow hue with a sweet tropical aroma and pronounced carbonation. Upon tasting, the notes of longan honey were discernible from the beginning of each sip and lingered into the body, delivering a floral and fruity flavour that complemented the jasmine base yet was distinctly Cantonese and bore a resemblance to monk fruit. The passionfruit assumed a more subdued profile than expected, with its signature tart and tangy notes significantly restrained, allowing only its tropical undertones to emerge, accompanied by a subtle acidity that tempered the honey sweetness. Towards the end of the sip, the tiny bubbles cleansed the palate, leaving a crisp and clean, albeit somewhat light, finish.

Overall, this was an intriguing passion fruit green tea with a distinct Cantonese twist, although we lean towards a bolder use of passion fruit in beverages from the West. Among the flavours we tried from Mindful Sparks, this particular one was the least enjoyable, despite maintaining its refined quality.
