This is the Wampee Twilight Dew ($9.90, +$1.00 for honey pearls, fixed size, 100% sweetness, light ice) from Tea Republic.
Featuring a white peach oolong base, the drink had a translucent light brown hue and was served chilled. The flavour profile centred around the wampee—an unfamiliar fruit to us in its fresh form—which delivered a distinctive fruitiness with a lightly acidic, sweet-tart character reminiscent of ume. This paired well with the white peach oolong, whose crisply sweet and floral qualities, supported by the lightly oxidised tea’s light-bodied structure, created a well-balanced composition. The oolong lent refinement and clarity, elevating the wampee’s complexity without overpowering it. Honey pearls added gentle textural contrast, offering chew without detracting from the drink’s clean, subtly layered flavour. The finish was floral, sweet-tart, and refreshingly light. Overall, this beverage stands out for its distinctive profile within the local boba market. While worth trying, it is not one we would prioritise over other offerings in the range.
This Wampee Twilight Dew was purchased from Tea Republic in Sydney, Australia in July 2025.
