Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea Mulberry Pineapple Tea

This is the Mulberry Pineapple Tea ($9.80; fixed ice, 50% sugar) from Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea, featuring mulberry, pineapple and lemon smashed with ice in a green tea base.

The beverage presented with an opaque deep burgundy hue, with visible pieces of pineapple, mulberry and lemon suspended throughout. Initial contact delivered black mulberry with mellow fruit sweetness, recalling blackberry with restrained tartness. Through the mid-palate, the mulberry developed a honeyed, gently jammy character before giving way to the richer sweetness of golden pineapple. Small pieces of smashed pineapple introduced pops of juicy acidity and firmer texture against the softer mulberry, while lemon lifted the deeper fruit profile towards the finish. The finish retained the pineapple’s tropical sweetness alongside a brighter citrus acidity, preventing the mulberry from becoming overly intense. Texture remained varied between the soft fruit and firmer pineapple pieces, although the larger pieces of lemon repeatedly obstructed the straw and disrupted the otherwise cohesive drinking structure.

Overall, a fruit tea with a layered flavour trajectory and pronounced textural contrast, resulting in a rich but progressively lifted structure that was somewhat compromised by the poorly integrated lemon pieces.

This Mulberry Pineapple Tea was purchased from Yi Fang Taiwan Fruit Tea in Sydney, Australia in August 2026.
