This is the Kazemaru Farm Nōka ga Hoshita Ringo Hoshi no Kinka, featuring semi-dried pieces of Hoshi no Kinsei apples grown in Aomori Prefecture.

The pieces were wedge-shaped and varied in size from 1.5 to 2.5 cm at their widest. Named hoshi no kinka (lit. “heaven’s coin”) for their golden appearance, they emitted a bright, sweet apple aroma.

On tasting, the pieces yielded easily to the bite, offering little resistance and recalling the soft, almost pulpy flesh of the fresh fruit. As one chewed, they released a refreshing sweetness characteristic of a high-sugar apple, with just a touch of acidity in the finish. Surprisingly, the apple flavour was notably mellow—unexpectedly so, given the vibrancy of its aroma. Overall, this was one of the less distinctive varieties of dried apples in this series.

This Kazemaru Farm Nōka ga Hoshita Ringo Hoshi no Kinka contained 15 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Hirosaki, Japan in 2024.
