This is the Kazemaru Farm Nōka ga Hoshita Ringo Ōrin, featuring semi-dried pieces of Ōrin apples grown in Aomori Prefecture. Ōrin apples are regarded as the pioneer of yellow apple varieties and are the second most cultivated in Aomori Prefecture after Fuji apples.

The pieces were wedge-shaped and varied in size from 1.5 to 2 cm at their widest. They had a pale yellow to dark yellow hue, with some retaining their yellow-green skin. The dried apple pieces emitted a crisp, sweet apple aroma with almost no acidity.

On tasting, the pieces yielded very easily to the bite, rehydrating on the palate to recall the soft, pulpy texture of the fresh fruit. The initial sweetness developed into a floral quality reminiscent of the Chiyuki apple, though with a honeyed crispness and even less acidity than the spiced floral sweetness of the Chiyuki. While these apples had a unique fragrance and distinct sweetness, the juicy acidity and satisfying crunch of the Fuji and Kōgyoku varieties were missed.
This Kazemaru Farm Nōka ga Hoshita Ringo Ōrin contained 15 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Hirosaki, Japan in 2024.
