Cooked in an air fryer at 170°C for 10 minutes, with a shake midway through, the chicken bites had a savoury and slightly sour aroma reminiscent of ham and pineapple pizza. On tasting, the Hawaiian-style coating delivered an initial sweetness, followed by a tangy flavour akin to pineapple, balanced with savoury notes of garlic and onion, and a hint of heat from the chilli. We were pleasantly surprised by the presence of the pineapple flavour, though it wasn’t listed in the ingredients, likely attributed to the ‘natural flavourings’. Overall, this Hawaiian-inspired snack was enjoyable, with a subtle yet satisfying pineapple undertone, and we would repurchase.
