Chicken and beef flavoured snacks are easy to come by, but lamb is a bit of a rarity. So when D and I spotted these Red Rock Deli Potato Chips Special Reserve Slow-cooked Lamb with Barossa Shiraz we gave it a go.
These ‘ultra deluxe potato crisps’ have an intensely savoury and meaty aroma, with the lamb flavour coming through from the first bite. Mid-bite, a slight sweet acidity emerged from the Barossa Shiraz before the meatiness of the lamb returns in the end. The lamb is meaty but without the gamey-ness associated with lamb usually, which some lovers of lamb may miss.
