M&M’S Hot Cross Bun Flavour

Hot cross buns are a staple for the Easter season. And in 2019, brands came out with various hot cross bun flavoured snacks starting with these Hot Cross Bun flavoured M&M’S that we finally spotted on the shelves at our local supermarket in late March after first reading about then in January.

The back of the packaging featured six M&M’S in three colours usually found on a hot cross bun, resting on a cooling rack typically reserved for baked goods like hot cross buns.

The crisp sugar coating of the M&M’S feature three colours that usually make up a hot cross bun: beige (for the bun itself), tan (for the golden top) and brown (for the currants). That said, the different colours all have the same flavour, which is a subtle spice mix with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves with a hint of citrus that is very much reminiscent of the baked Easter favourite. While it embraces the hot cross bun flavour well, we’re not fans of this combination of spice and chocolate.

This M&M’S Hot Cross Bun Flavour contained 160 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
