These Hanami Prawn Crackers were made from rice and contain 10% prawn as well as shrimp and squid powder for flavouring.

The crackers were about 4 x 0.7 x 0.5 cm in size with a rather pungent seafood aroma. Upon tasting, a more savoury seafood flavour recalling dried shrimp and squid came through at the start of each bite but quickly dissipated on crunching through the cracker itself, which had only a mild prawn flavour. The smell of these crackers belied the rather mild flavour of these crackers, much like how dried shrimp and dried squid usually taste much milder than their smell. While we usually enjoy a good crunch, we’re not a fan of the density of these crackers — a lighter and airier crispness would have made the snack more addictive.

This Hanami Prawn Crackers contained 100 g. It was produced in Thailand and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
